While we wait (3)

Are we in France? Sometimes it is hard to tell!

Dear readers, first things first… we are still waiting in regards to our offer and the Winner of the Château Game! The announcement is ready to go. I created my first Adobe After Effects video as a big reveal, all I have to do is hit the submit button which will send out the newsletter announcement to our subscribers. But… although there has been some movement, we do not have anything in the way of a written confirmation that our negotiations have come to a conclusion. I promise, the moment I have something conclusive in my hand, I will hit that submit button! We are on pins and needles, and pacing the floor…

The empty streets of La Cité

In the mean time I have been receiving greetings and messages first asking about the Winner of the Château Game, followed by asking about our wonderful existence in France in the glorious spring… Where? France? are we in France? - Where ever we are, is back in covid lockdown. Nothing is open except essential services, there is a 7pm curfew daily, and we are not allowed to travel further than 6 miles from our home, nor cross department lines (equivalent to County lines). Restaurants, cafes, and bars have been closed since we arrived in December along with museums, and any public gathering space. For gods sake even Ikea is closed!! LOL… Consequently it is really difficult to know that we are in a different country. The only time it seems possible is when the doorbell rings with a not to often home delivery or when we go to the grocery market, where… everyone talks funny!

So we spend the majority of our time housebound, working, Château shopping online, working on language skills, cooking, and watching American television, movies, and the occasional French television show. The weather is really beautiful and it is sad that we had to discontinue our countryside road trips.

On the upside, lockdown is supposed to end in two weeks, there are rumors of a gradual reopening of businesses in the middle of May, and we are finally eligible for vaccinations!!!

A lockdown visitor

I am glad you are hanging in there with us while we wait, and we should have an outcome to question of our new home any day now.

Now onto todays adventure, Phillip is going to cut my hair! (insert OMG emoji here)… Wish me luck…
